This Privacy Policy applies to AI Filter (the "App"), including the AI Filter iOS app, our website, and related services that link to this Privacy Policy. The App is provided and controlled by GlowUp, with its registered address at Meydan Grandstand, 6th floor, Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, U.A.E. ("GlowUp", "we", or "us").

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

We have designed AI Filter to collect as little personal information as possible. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos to train AI models.

What information we collect

Photos and prompts you provide

To transform an image, you upload a photo and type a prompt describing what you want. The photo and its corresponding prompt are processed to generate your result, as described in "How AI image generation works" below.

Account information

AI Filter creates an account so your creations and subscription can sync to your device. Depending on how you sign in, this may include:

An anonymous, per-installation account identifier created automatically. It is not designed to identify you personally.
If you choose Sign in with Apple, the identifier provided by Apple. You may use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, in which case we never receive your real email address.

Your creations

The images you generate are stored so you can access them in your in-app gallery across sessions.

Usage and technical information

We collect limited information about how the App is used and the device you use it on — such as app version, device model, operating system version, language, and general interaction events (for example, that a generation was started or completed). We use this to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App.

Subscription information

If you purchase a subscription (AI Filter Pro or Ultra), the purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive subscription status (for example, whether your subscription is active and which tier) from Apple and our subscription provider so we can unlock the corresponding features. We do not receive your full payment card details.

How AI image generation works

AI Filter does not run image generation on its own servers. To transform your photo, we use our third-party AI generation provider, fal.ai (operated by fal - Features & Labels, Inc.), to run the AI image model. The image model we currently use is Google's "Nano Banana Pro" image model (part of Google's Gemini family). To generate your result, we send only the image you upload and the prompt you type to fal.ai, and fal.ai transfers them to Google to run the model and return the result.

We do not share your account details, contact information, or other personal data with fal.ai or Google — only the image and the corresponding prompt needed to produce your result.
The image and prompt are sent solely to generate your requested output.
fal.ai processes this data as our service provider, only as needed to generate your result, under fal.ai's Terms of Service and API Services Terms, which include information-security obligations. We selected fal.ai and Google on the basis that, under their published terms, your image and prompt are processed only to provide the generation service and are given protection consistent with this Privacy Policy.
Under fal.ai's API terms, fal.ai does not use the image or prompt you submit to train or develop its AI models, and we do not use them to train ours. Where your image and prompt are transferred to Google to run the model, Google processes them to generate your result under Google's applicable terms.

Edit suggestions

When you select a photo, we also send it to fal.ai to analyze the image and propose edit ideas you might want to apply. This analysis is performed by fal.ai using a vision model run on fal.ai's own infrastructure; for this feature the image is not shared with any additional third party (for example, it is not sent to Google), and it is used only to generate suggestions for you.

Photos and facial recognition

AI Filter is a creative photo-editing tool, and we want to be clear about what we do not do with your images:

We do not use facial recognition or perform biometric identification.
We do not create or store faceprints, face templates, face geometry, or any other biometric identifiers from your photos.
We do not use your photos to identify, verify, or recognize any individual.
We do not sell your photos, and we do not use them to train AI models.

Your photos are used only to generate the transformation you request, as described above.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide the App's core functionality — transforming your photos based on your prompts and saving your creations.
Create and maintain your account and sync your content and subscription.
Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App.
Process and manage subscriptions and unlock Pro features.
Respond to your support requests.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK users)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information under the following legal bases:

Performance of a contract — to provide the App's core functionality, including transforming your photos, saving your creations, and managing your subscription.
Legitimate interests — to secure, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the App, and to prevent fraud and abuse, balanced against your rights and freedoms.
Consent — where we ask for it, such as access to your camera or photo library. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
Legal obligation — where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the App, and only as needed:

AI generation provider (fal.ai): receives the image and prompt you submit, solely to generate your result, acting as our service provider under fal.ai's terms, as described above.
AI model provider (Google): the image model we use ("Nano Banana Pro", part of Google's Gemini family) is operated by Google; fal.ai transfers your image and prompt to Google to run the model and return your result.
Cloud and authentication provider (Supabase): hosts our backend, stores your account and your generated images, and manages sign-in.
Apple: handles App Store purchases and Sign in with Apple. Apple is the merchant of record for subscriptions.
Subscription management (Adapty): helps us manage and validate subscription status.
Analytics (PostHog): helps us understand in-app product usage so we can improve the App.
Website hosting and analytics (Vercel): hosts our website (ai-filter.aesthetic.me) and provides privacy-friendly Web Analytics and Speed Insights. These collect limited, aggregated traffic and performance data and do not use cookies to track you across other websites.
For legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or GlowUp.
Business transfers: if GlowUp is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Where we store your information

Your information may be stored and processed on servers located outside the country where you live, including in the United States, where service providers such as fal.ai, Google, Supabase, PostHog, and Vercel operate. These countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your country.

We choose reputable service providers and take reasonable steps to keep your information secure wherever it is processed. If you have questions about how your information is transferred or protected, please contact us at ai-filter@aesthetic.me.

How long we keep your information

We keep your account information and creations for as long as you maintain your account, and as needed to provide the App. The image and prompt you submit are stored in our Supabase backend so your creations remain available in your in-app gallery, and are sent to fal.ai — and transferred by fal.ai to Google — to generate your result; under fal.ai's API terms, fal.ai processes them only to provide that result and does not use them to train its models, and Google processes them to run the model under Google's terms. When you delete an image, or delete your account from within the App, the associated images and account data are removed from our systems. We may retain limited information where necessary to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at ai-filter@aesthetic.me. You can also delete your account from within the App, which removes your associated account data and creations.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Notice for California residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) provides you with certain rights regarding your personal information:

Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
Right to delete the personal information we hold about you.
Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of your rights.

The categories of personal information we collect are described in "What information we collect" above. We collect this information from you and your device, use it for the purposes described in this policy, and disclose it only to the service providers listed in "How we share your information." To exercise your rights, contact us at ai-filter@aesthetic.me. You may also use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

AI Filter is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or a higher age where required by local law). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at ai-filter@aesthetic.me and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
